Atmosphere

Make Sure Your Surroundings Supports Your Focus

Atmosphere is one of the most underrated, catch you by surprise issues of success. Whether or not you are aware of it, your business surroundings and your personal surroundings matter. They matter a lot. Look, most of us  just try and adapt to our atmosphere. We make the best of it. Sometimes we get frustrated and complain about it. But we seldom see our surroundings as something we can control, as something we can change. So rather than attempt to shape our surroundings, many simply choose to abandon it. That, or we soldier on and continue to live in an atmosphere that does not support our focus to become our best.

Your Physical Surroundings

The key issue of your physical surroundings is productivity. That is, does your office space, furniture, equipment, and tools, support your productivity goals? In truth, your physical surroundings is much easier to alter than your people surroundings. Never forget who the architect of your life is – you!

Surrounding Yourself With the Right People – “People Setting”

The other main atmospheric issue is people. If your physical surroundings is about productivity, then your people setting is about energy and synergy. What most fail to realize is that you are the gatekeeper and you can control who you let into your world, thus becoming an architect of your people setting. Who are you surrounding yourself with?

In my experience high achievers tend  to associate with energizers and synergizers – people who support those goals and work with them to achieve those goals. Your surroundings can make you or break you – it’s that important. Don’t leave the architecture of your atmosphere to chance – shape it, craft it, and make it one that helps you fulfill your promise.

“Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.”

~William Feather
